1993 dodge dakota wont start but when it does it idles weird and when i press the gas it shuts off?

Its a 1993 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6 Magnum and usually it doesn't want to start but if i do get it to start it idles hard and sounds bad and if i press the gas it just shuts of. But if it hasn't been run for awhile and if the truck isn't that hot it will start up and ride like normal. But if the trucks even a little hot it wont start up and sometimes its starts when i spray starter fluid in the carberatuer but usually it doesn't. But i'm not sure whats wrong with it?
