Is it unreasonable to ask my husband to stop bringing ice cream home while we're dieting?

Be all cute and put on a super cute outfit and ask him if he likes what he sees, of course the guy will say yes then lean forward and take his face in your hands and say something like, please stop bringing home the ice cream your willpower is so much stronger than mine, and I want to still look this good for you in 6 months. There is always a "way" of putting things across in a way a man HEARS.
