I need a Condom larger than a magnum but smaller than an XL?

I'm concerned because I have an average sized man hood when it comes to length, but girth is another story. Regular sized trojan is too small, so I got magnums, but the magnums still hurt a lot when i wear them on the base of my penis. My penis is only 1 3/4'' across I would imagine a little over 5.5 inch around (mid shaft I'm a little over five). Why do the magnums still hurt so much? Is there another middle of the road condom that isn't XL magnum out there? I'm basing this off of trojan sizes perhaps there is another brand....any information would be so helpful
